This group is interested in all aspects of World History; political, social, economic etc. We choose a topic which usually lasts from 6 months to up to a year. During that time all members research the topic and then each give a talk or presentation on an aspect which interests them. The rest of the group listen and then discuss. This is a format which works very well. We all get to do some research but also find out a great deal from the other members.

The group is now meeting in the Quaker Barn, Meeting House Lane, Ulverston.

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:00 until 12:00.

Our next topic will be a History of Korea from 1850 to 1960.

This will begin in June 2026 with a talk on the Choson Dynasty to lead us into our new topic.

We will then cover topics including: The annexation of Korea by Japan, Second World War and Korea, Division of Korea, Korean War and post war development.

Any new members interested in trying out this group would be most welcome.
