The String Chickens meet on the 2^nd Thursday and the 4^th Monday of each month at the Methodist Rooms, Ulverston.  There are usually about 12-14 of us at our meetings. We play a wide variety of music from the 1930's to the present day (well, no Radiohead!).  We play gigs at care homes, the Dementia Café, Rotary Clubs, Silver Sunday, and give any funds raised to St Mary's Hospice.  Last year we raised £325.

We are always happy to see new members and have spare ukuleles if you are tempted but don't have an instrument. There is no obligation to play at gigs. Just playing together and sharing a cup of tea and a chat is all part of the fun.
