George Romney born in Dalton in 1734 became one of the most fashionable artists of his day, painting many leading society figures including Lady Hamilton and William Pitt the Younger. He is one of the most distinguished and widely known sons of the Furness area and has a legacy of 2000 paintings and 5000 drawings scattered throughout 23 countries. 

Entry is £3 and includes tea/coffee and biscuits. It is also a place where our groups introduce themselves and their activities.
