We had the pleasure of presenting a display at the monthly Drop-in recently. We had found that planning our display gave us the opportunity to reflect on past meetings and the range of topics we had discussed and researched, both local and global. As a group, we are certainly more aware and informed as to the huge and varied problems our world is facing, but rather than being overwhelmed, we temper our discussions with positive and hopeful areas of research and actions. Early on, we addressed the question 'What can I do?' The problems are so immense, how can an individual effect meaningful change? Listening and talking with members who attended the Drop-in we were heartened (but not surprised) at how many are 'doing their bit', little things making a collective difference. With Cop26 about to take place and big players not attending, we are reminded of the following quote:

If you were on a sinking boat you wouldn't stop bailing water just because the person next to you has a bigger bucket to work with.
