Wednesday Walks range from 6 to 9 miles in length and up to 1300ft in height. Suitable clothing is a must and should include good walking boots and waterproofs. We won't walk in very bad weather so if the forecast is poor, make sure you check your email the night before, in case the walk has been cancelled. Winter walks are likely to be low and local, and we will venture further afield as the seasons progress.
One thing to bear in mind, is that all members of the group must lead a walk at least once a year, and this applies to everyone, including those who only attend very rarely. If you have no experience of leading, there are people who will help and you can pair up with another walker if you wish. It's really not that difficult.
Standard Walk Start time is 10.00am unless otherwise stated, or meet at Victoria Road, Ulverston for car sharing - Standard departure time - 9.30am unless otherwise stated.
Walkers can go straight to the start of the walk as advertised, or meet at the end of Victoria Road for car sharing. Details are sent out the weekend before.
Directions: Victoria Road begins opposite the Coronation Hall and leads past St Mary's Catholic Church, under the railway bridge and past the Devonshire pub and Lightburn Park. It then forks left into Park Road, and continues right to a dead end. Take the right fork and you will see, there is plenty of parking. (see map below)
